Marquita is an avid reader, former athlete, sports fan (especially football and basketball), board game enthusiast and a card player. When not with family or friends, she spends her time learning or watching sports. She played sports and learned to play card games at a young age. So understanding team dynamics and how to strategically respond to a person or team has a been a lifelong study. Her interest in team dynamics led her to her passion for relationship science. Her studies  in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Mental Health Counseling, Conflict Resolution and Mediation has been pivotal in her professional journey.

 

Working in the criminal justice and social service fields for the past 22 years, has given her a front row seat to understanding the complexities of human behavior, social interaction, conflict resolution, decision-making and the importance of accountability. Relationships and resolving conflict are essential to everything in life. Some relationships we get to choose and some we don't. Some paths we choose and others we we're thrust on. While we don't have control over the relationships we encounter along the way, we can control our understanding and responses to those relationships. 

 

She gets so much joy from learning and teaching about relationship science. More importantly, she enjoys helping people to understand their path, purpose and mission in life. Helping them to get from a place of resisting the path to embracing it.  She is a storyteller and a dynamic speaker. Sharing the knowledge she has learned to enhance people's lives and relationships is what sparks and drives her.
